seek God first (Matthew 6:33)
When you put God first, when you obey His commands, you open the door for His favor—you have the advantage for success! Even if someone has wronged you and it looks like they have the upper hand, even if it looks like things are never going to change, you need to keep reminding yourself, “I have an advantage. God is in control of my destiny. He’s fighting my battles for me. He is my vindicator, and it’s just a matter of time before things change in my favor.”
"It’s been great working with Wayne because he’s an excellent footballer. I get asked this question every week but I’ve told you from day one he’s been great, his training has been great. I thought he had a very good game in midweek and we want his form to continue, we want him to keep scoring goals. I’m pleased with him - he’s a big plus for us just now."
"He had to make sure he was the best he could be and he’s made sure he’s done that. He’s in good nick, his talent is unquestionable, he’s physically very good, mentally in a good place and his form has been good."
- David Moyes
When trials and challenges come, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or discouraged. You may feel lost or uncertain about the future. That’s when we need to turn our hearts and minds to God because He has promised that no matter what we face, we can have His perfect peace. We can feel His perfect love. We can have confidence because He has already overcome the world.
The key is that we have to keep an eternal perspective. We have to know that the trials that come our way are only temporary. We may experience tragedy or loss in this life, but with God on our side, we have the ultimate victory in eternity. We may have seasons of grief or sadness here on earth, but He is our comforter, and in the end, He will wipe away every tear from our eyes.
Remember, when difficulties arise, focus on the fact that you have the ultimate victory. Don’t let fear paralyze you; instead, put your faith and hope in God. Those things that the enemy meant for evil, God will turn around for your good. He’ll lead you out stronger, wiser and more alive than ever before.
